Review: Gujarati Pad is a standard word processor that allows users to create documents by typing characters in the Gujarati language. It includes a few customization options. The interface of the application looks and feels like the one of Microsoft Office 97, so improvements are clearly welcomed in the visual department. Keys are automatically assigned with Gujarati characters and, unfortunately you cannot change their layout. It is possible to find and replace text, switch to the English language, zoom in and out, toggle between page view and continuous mode, as well as insert external files, page breaks, or objects and images as characters. Furthermore, you can change font settings and customize the text style, alignment, color and background color, tabs and paragraph properties (e.g. line spacing, indents, distances), as well as insert tables and attributes. The saving and printing features are not supported in the unregistered edition. Gujarati Pad barely uses CPU and RAM, so it doesn affect system performance. It has a good response time and works well, without causing the operating system to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. However, Gujarati Pad has not been updated for a very long time, and the installer fails to register some DLLs on newer Windows.
